The topsides have not been cut for years . I want to use 3M products with my dewalt polisher , so the question , do I use separate cut then polish then wax or they do something called perfect that cuts and waxes , what does the jury think also how much stuff for a 42 ft fly bridge , thanks for replies.

I have done side by side comparison with 3M and Koch Chemie products, the ease at which the Koch Chemie polishes out is noticeable and it took the matt finish out of about a square foot of my neighbours boat when I demo'd it to him.

Thinks he's still waiting for me to do the rest of it!

I've always found that the combined products do not last.

I use 3M Fastcut if it's really dull, then 3M Perfect-it (which gives the mirror finish), then 3M marine wax to seal it. I also use 3M wool bonnets. White for cut & polish, and yellow for wax.

Takes longer, but lasts longer.

The more recent 3m product line is readily available. You may want a bottle of Heavy (cut) and a bottle of Medium Cut and Wax, and if you want , finish off with just Wax. The wax is extremely easy to put on and off by hand.
No one can advise quite which product you need to use and where as we are not next to your boat, but the three above should cover whatever you come across! I wouldn't bother with the Fine Cut and Wax.

The range is shown here ( only as an example), the purple bottles:
3M Marine Products - Cleaners & Tools | Force 4 Chandlery.
Get the large bottles !
Incidentally, the mop/bonnet is at least as important as the polish. Personally, I find the double sided 3M ones excellent, but they are not cheap, tho should last you for years. If the double sided ones, you will need the adapter (needn't be by 3m as a generic one is fine)
