Just wondering if its possible to transfer my recently plotted track on Garmin echomap plotter onto Navionics on tablet to show friends how much tacking was needed to get south to Baltimore. I would have left the tablet on but cloudy days and sunless nights and a fridge full of goodies = battery conservation.
Thanks in advance

To do this on my garmin Plotter uses either SD card or Active Captain ... save the track .. copy to SD card or transfer via Active Captain ..

As per "Google" .....

To transfer a saved track from a Garmin ECHOMAP plotter to the Navionics Boating app on a tablet, you'll need to export the track from your plotter as a GPX file and then import it into the Navionics app. This typically involves using the ActiveCaptain app for the transfer.

Here's a step-by-step guide:
1. Export the Track from your Garmin ECHOMAP:
  • Insert an SD card:
If your ECHOMAP uses an SD card, insert it into the plotter. If not, you may need to use the ActiveCaptain app and a Wi-Fi connection to transfer the data.

  • Navigate to User Data:
Access the user data section on your ECHOMAP (this may be under "My Data" or a similar option).

  • Select the Track:
Find and select the specific track you want to transfer.

  • Export:
Choose the "Export" or "Save" option, and select "GPX" as the file format. Save the file to the SD card or, if using ActiveCaptain, initiate the export process within the app.
2. Import into Navionics Boating App:
  • Open the GPX file:
Locate the GPX file on your SD card (if applicable) or in the ActiveCaptain app.

  • Share and Select Navionics:
Share the GPX file and select the Navionics Boating app as the application to open it with.

  • Import:
The Navionics app will prompt you to import the data. Choose "Import" or a similar option.

  • Verify Import:
You should receive a message confirming the successful import, and you can then find your imported track within the Navionics app's user data section.
Using ActiveCaptain (if applicable):
  • Pair devices:
Ensure your tablet (with Navionics and ActiveCaptain) and Garmin plotter are paired via the ActiveCaptain app.

  • Sync:
Use the "Sync with Plotter" or "Import from Plotter" option within ActiveCaptain to transfer the data.
Important Considerations:
  • ActiveCaptain:
The ActiveCaptain app is often used to bridge the gap between Garmin devices and the Navionics app, facilitating the transfer of user data.

  • Subscriptions:
Navionics Boating requires an active subscription for some features, including importing data.

  • File Formats:
The GPX (GPS Exchange Format) is a common format for transferring GPS data between devices and applications.

Thanks for that. I admit to being a tad lazy and not searching Google myself, that was going to be next option..
