Both good choices. Also consider the little Hunters and Jaguars.Probably about 10K max.

Bit too beamy for pubic road towing though ?Looks rather nice. Very beamy so lots of space. I'm too old to want to go fast!

We have 2 dogs so not keen on the open stern.Both good choices. Also consider the little Hunters and Jaguars.
If your budget was higher, I was going to suggest looking at the Vigo 21
Three guy I knew sailed all around the west coast single handed on his, often with a large collie aboard. But he did trade up to a bigger boat, and there was a reason for that...Yes, maybe a bit of a handful.
