Trailer sailer less than 730 kg?

I think I would do away with the gafrf and convert to bermuda rig. However there is an association here on the Swan River dedicated to racing and celebrating gaff rigged sail boats. Old Gaffers Association. Their races are for an assortment of all sorts and sizes of boats. ol'will

It's actually a Gunter rig rather than a Gaff, which I have never had before so I'll see how I like it, as from what I've read it's supposed to be ideal for single handed sailing which I will mostly be doing.
Plus converting to bermuda rig will mean the expense of a new mast.

Nice boat, like the look of her..

My boat is a one design and mostly wood.. I built her 26 years ago..

Some lysanders were fibreglass.
Endevour build 001.jpgEndeavour is about the same age as she was designed and built in 98 by a retired naval archetect, I have all the plans and some pictures of the build along with a scale model.
I think I got a bargain at £1500 quid as that included the trailer which is probably worth that on it's own, but I'll find out on Wednesday when I launch her and if she fills up with water I'll know it's not quite the bargain I'd hoped

Gunter rig is a great compromise between gaff and Bermudan.
its closer to Bermudan in performance than gaff. But has the short spars making it easy to lower the entire rig, and have no overhang when towing. i had the same on a Lysander many years ago.

£1500 is indeed a great bargain.
