First year with a boat but have not found trailering a 21ft sportsboat a particular problem. Launching and particularly recovery can be a bit of a hassle, but at least I do not have to worry about getting the cover on and off and cleaning up the boat before I leave it on the mooring. Also can work on boat during the week as it is parked two mins from my house in a nice warm barn.

My brother is a farmer and owns a trailer company so you could say I'm a lucky b******.

Main advantage is the range of waters we can use. Within 1hr trailing I can be anywhere from Poole to the Hamble with all of the diversity of cruising that gives me.

Now looking for a bigger trailed boat and the new 4 x 4 towing vehicle arrives this week.

Then I'll stick my spinnaker pole on the end of the mast........

Re:mysterious trailer....

I do! Well sort off, it's a stud farm....no comments! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

They'd let me keep it there if I wanted, wouldn't make a big difference to them given all the horse boxes and stuff they have.

This not aimed at you so much as lurkers and others reading threads....... Worth asking around. Farmers have so much gear around, that another trailer wouldn't make much difference. Always farms within reasonable driving difference unless you live in a city. Just a matter of finding a friendly one, and that's not too hard

I suppose that that will come under the Design and Constuction Regulations (Skateboards). So long as he is wearing lights I think you've got me!

Only if you towed it behind your own car. (And your car isn't a Volvo FL10 tractor unit!) Oh yes and you have to have launched it down a slipway off the back of a trailer to count. Using a travel hoist or crane is cheating!!
