I went to buy some white gloss Toplac & our chandlery didn't have any. They explained "oil based paints are not being produced, it's now water based paints, ie Toplac Plus". Looked this up when I got home, and there isn't any white Toplac to be had with the usual on-line chandleries. I then looked at the International Marine's data sheets for Toplac Plus, doesn't seem to say it's water based, and no warnings about applying on previously painted surfaces. Anybody with any knowledge of this? OK just to regard as an upgrade/alteration & continue on?

I can only speak from my experience using Toplac Gloss as a boot topping colour,

My boot topping used to be anti-foul but just rubbed off over two years cleaning scum off the waterline.

10 years ago cleaned the hull with No 7 thinners and applied 1 x primer and 2 x coats toplac gloss which lasted over two years easy and after two years just clean it and applied another 1 x coat for the next two years, great stuff,

Pretty sure Toplac Plus is based on the same chemistry as standard Toplac. I’ve just used it and it seems to apply in the same manner and still need thinners to clean the brush.
