my new phone is ally. i glued a washer on the back so it sat in the cradle thing....dropped it overboard and retrieved it with sea searcher magnet......still works fine.
Daughter dropped blackberry in sink. 1" of water, under for perhaps a second. Phone is no more, demised, passed on, deceased, it is an ex blackberry ......
After losing several phones to water ingress I finally bit the bullet and coughed up for a Nokia 3720 classic at 140 euros ! , which , according to the ads is waterproof/shockproof , etc, etc .
Nokia have even made a video showing how much abuse they will take , such as being kicked down a pitch by a size 12 rugger boot !
However ... It fell out of my car one night and stayed out in the rain overnight ,face down so water got into the speaker grille .When it was found it was full of water sloshing around inside the screen.
So a few Googles later I found some advice from a Nokia engineer , which I tried .
Strip the phone down as far as possible icluding sim card . Then place it on the vacumm cleaner hose and switch it on and leave for 15 mins . This took every drop of moisture out of the phone and upon reassembly it worked !
Well worth it , it was 5 months ago and it still works fine .
