Can the panel suggest a supplier for a tonneau for a Formula 252. the problem being I don’t have one to copy from.

Where are you based? It would be easier to have one manufactured for you rather than buying from Formula Pwllheli. Formula goodies are pricey and a tonneau is more for the gull's benefit than yours.

CJ Marine designed a cockpit canopy for my boat from digital photographs that I supplied. They calibrated my camera in advance and supplied target discs to place in specific locations. They then used some clever computing to work it all out on a PC. The end result was a near perfect fit.

Just had a tonneau made for my S37 in Spain. My guy had the old one to work from but would have worked out the same if making from scratch. As a guide it was about £1k
I don’t know if you can see it but you can make the centre taught by pulling on the rope from the side. I haven’t seen it yet but it looks to be a neat idea and I think the job looks good

Incidentally my guy also offered an alternative material to Sunbrella called “Stamoid Light” made by Farrari. The previous cover lasted a decade so I stuck with Sunbrella but a lighter material might suit you.

Thanks all. I’m based in Anglesey. The camera solution is interesting. Have to wait for the kids to come back from uni to tackle that.
much appreciated.

Then you have one obvious choice and that is Boatshed sailmakers

Do it once, get it right the first time. Beware of the plethora of other local clowns that will offer you this service. I've been bitten, never again.

There's a New Kid on the block, Jake, 'Ultimate Covers' 07308020451, based in Deganwy. I have seen the Work it is good and fairly priced

Ultimate Covers

At least he takes a proper template unlike the other yaapie that used to reside there who claimed he did it all by eye and was as I can attest after the fact legally blind. Baggy old man trousers my canopy looked like. He got zero bucks from me. Zilch. 5 years on and my ire still burns hot.

Phoned Jake, taking the boat to him for a measure up. He reckons about 500 quid which seems very reasonable to me though I suppose it depends on the material used.
thanks all
