Well after all the talk on here about the barriers on the fairline stand I went to see my freind Trev Betts on their. A very nice guy too, and I am not just buttereing him up for giving me a VIP pass.
Well the barriers are down, I have pics but can't post them at mo. They are happy with them down, they may put them up later in the week, if needed. Everyone seems very relaxed.
So do go and see for yourself.

Why did they take them down?

Lack of punters, the opportunity for the great unwashed to steal some cushions, or the realisation that their policy had become a PR disaster on a top boating website?

I'm impressed they acted. Some companies might have delayed thinking we'll review it before the next boat show. Good luck to Fairline and I hope the remainder of the show is a success for them.

I went to the Fairline stand on Friday and had to give my details before I was allowed on a boat, which I didn't mind but I thought it was odd as they didn't try to qualify my details or even pass the few details I gave to a salesman so I'm not sure why they went through the motions?

It's a completely seamless suit that. Must have got it for her birthday. Nice paint job actually. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wasn't happy last week when I emailed FL for an appointment and got no reply. I went to the show on Monday and was made most welcome on every stand including FL. It does look like they were aware of customers thoughts regarding their stand offish attitude and had a rethink. Well done FL and well done this forum for giving us a podium to shout from.
By the way the isles were empty all day Monday. It is a big change from 10 years ago when you had to fight your way from stand to stand.
