Need to find a source for Warburtons sliced toastie loaf now.
Or just butter it first then toast in the frying pan. Assuming you’d butter the toast anyway it’s the same calories etc.Pre heat an empty frying pan up to very hot and then place bread on pan, do both sides and you will get toast. Bit like fried bread without the oil.
An electric toaster would take us into the realms of solar pañales or generators of which I know nothing but will no doubt be part of our new life afloat. On my Albin Vega I could make cheese on toast with a gas grill …..that would be the pinnacle of joyI’ve tried a pyramid but never had success.....a grill or electric toaster is the only way.
Personally I can only eat fresh bread or toast....so if it was me without access to a toaster, I would always make sure that the bread is fresh
I would add the oil and once the "toast" is done on one side, turn over, add an egg into the frying pan and cook. If the frying pan is big enough, mushrooms and some bacon will go well with it.Pre heat an empty frying pan up to very hot and then place bread on pan, do both sides and you will get toast. He’s 75....he needs healthy food....not a fry upI would add the oil and once the "toast" is done on one side, turn over, add an egg into the frying pan and cook. If the frying pan is big enough, mushrooms and some bacon will go well with it.
I assume that Wansey can get something like bacon .....
They don't have anything so sophisticated as bacon in Spain.I would add the oil and once the "toast" is done on one side, turn over, add an egg into the frying pan and cook. If the frying pan is big enough, mushrooms and some bacon will go well with it.

If He's 75, the damage is done - just enjoy the fry up!He’s 75....he needs healthy food....not a fry up
Let him live long enough to enjoy his new boatIf He's 75, the damage is done - just enjoy the fry up!

We’ve considered an electric toaster for use on shore power - alongside the electric kettle. If I could find one that stored neatly I’d get one - they actually use <1kW so a medium sided inverter would cope but not from solar! An electric toaster would take us into the realms of solar pañales or generators of which I know nothing but will no doubt be part of our new life afloat.
One wonders what the point on living to old age is if you can’t enjoy the food your want. Eggs and mushrooms are actually pretty healthy, bacon perhaps not - but if it brings a smile to your face that must be good for mental health. He’s 75....he needs healthy food....not a fry up
