To help with the winter blues

A weekend in Düsseldorf and two ski trips to Austria or France usually does the trick to sort out the winter blues.
Hi D,
Will you PM or Facebook me any recommendations for Dusseldorf? We only have about 36 hours there next month (few nights in Cologne beforehand), would love to make the most of it!

Hope all is well - we're planning on being on the Austin Gunning IWAI Powerboat weekend this year.... making our best effort to get back into the IWAI events (life keeps getting in the way!)

Plenty going on in mijas also further down the coast in puerto banus &marbella. Shorts and t shirt weather in the day but night time gets cold. Gibraltar is an hour down the coast for tax free shopping and Malaga is worth a visit.
Thank you - food for thought incase we head to Spain this December / Jan.

We are escaping the Winter Blues by renting a two bed two bath apartment on a golf course at Mijas Costa for £700 a month. Very nice it is too.

Just had a fabulous coffee in Belemadina Pueblo for a Euro fifty.

Changed a lot, far busier than when we holidayed here forty years ago, but the sun was out today and it was 24 degrees.

Fuel and shopping about the same as at home, but wine and beer are good value.

So far so good!
We used to watch ”Place in the Sun” and the golf course apartments at Mijas would regularly pop up and by far the best accommodation and value, even if you don’t play golf. If you’ve got a moment I would appreciate by PM some info on potential rental contacts for next year
Enjoy, it’s damp here.

Where are you? We're just back from our annual XMas / New Years in Thailand (Didn't leave Thailand on this trip as only had 5 weeks this year).

Only new place we visited was Khao Yao Yai.... was nice for something new (not a lot going on there, but that's why we went).
We’ve done Ko Yao Noi before which was fun. The only place I’m happy to use a scooter. The Princess dealer for the area has just been involved in opening a new resort on Ko Yao Yai.

This time we popped up to Chiangmai, then drove from Bangkok to Krabi via Sam Roi Yot and chumphon.

In Krabi we had a few night is Khaothong which is a delightful backwater before returning to our second home the Nakamanda resort in Klong Muang.

Thailand (and SE Asia in general) is totally addictive. My GF and I first landed in Thailand 13 years ago as green backpackers for 3 months, with hardly a bob to spare.

Been going back every year since (with exception of COVID) for at least 1 month at a time (Dec / Jan, to escape the Irish winters)
We are/were the same with Singapore, until Covid, enroute from Europe, always enjoyed the tropical environment. Doesn’t seem like a proper holiday unless you are wearing a T shirt and shorts
