TMP Gearbox experience anybody?

Hi Leguill, I am delighted to come across this thread and discover a fellow Baltic 46 owner! Are you in the UK? The Hydraulic oil cooler is made by Volvo Hydraulics and is part number 834515 (or 824513) and is part of a Hydraulic boost unit BLA 4 - 160. No longer made but you will find it second hand maybe on ebay or similar as I did I think on Ebay USA, as it was used by Volvo on some of their old inboard engines. search for Volvo marine oil cooler B18 (or B20). Like everything on my Perkins/Volvo propulsion system, they corrode out rather than wear out. I have all the details if you pm me. I would love to share Baltic 46 issues/solutions/experiences with you. The Hydraulic fan motor block attached to the propshaft is made by Parker (model F11 or F12). The drive unit attached to the Perkins flywheel I think Tranona has right (he is pretty much always right as far as I can see on this forum!)

Sorry Leguill but I am jumping the gun here - your setup looks rather different in the photos from mine! Your drive assembly on the Perkins flywheel is different and the oil cooler itself while very similar is longer. My oil cooler is mounted remotely on the starboard side of the engine bay next to the hydraulic reservoir tank. The basic design of the cooler is the same and you could fit the Volvo part into replacing yours. Alternatively get the B18 (or B20) and also mount it remotely by passing yours. I would be surprised if your fan motor on the propshaft was different. What hull number is yours? Mine is hull number 11 or 13 - I will check tomorrow
