Timothy Spall All At Sea

:confused::confused:

well looking at the prog a couple of times, just to make shure, it pretty evident that the 'shots' of Richard MG are taken in daylight, but a few mins later on the Refinery is taken in half light, then when the troubles start (Nav wise) its bloody dark everywhere

looks to me like a couple of hours or more lapsed between passing Richard MG and 'getting dissorientated' inside the Medway,

but cannot have taken that amount of time to travel a couple miles, at most, so dissorientated? perhaps? can happen!

I sailed as local 'crew' many years ago, two of us, and the skipper got very dissorientated in side the Thames, off Allhallows, when taking back and forth, in light wind, but strong current, me, being on home waters, recognised the distinctive Landmarks on shore, so knew the South from the North shore

quite worrying :eek:

BUT i enjoyed the series

Total set up, happened on a Wednesday night when Sheerness life boat crew go out training. my neighbour (who happened to be a rescuing lifeboat crew member)says the whole thing was arranged in advance by his PR company.
Better t.v. than most though.

So these people were acting?

Who, exactly is your neighbour, and what is his account of who knew what? If the big chiefs (CG and RNLI) knew beforehand I could understand how a deception happened, but I find it hard to believe the people directly involved (CG operator and RNLI crew) did anything other than their job. The whole situation was too complex and contorted in real life for the sake of a few seconds of film footage.

That's a real pity.. I don't mind a bit of 'playing up' for the cameras but if it was totally "Hollywood' then that's going too far IMO.
