Tilley hat

Just what is it that gets people so upset about Tilley hats? If you prefer a baseball cap, Breton cap, Woolley beany hat or something else, OK Tilley's are expensive, but they do last, don't come off in a blow, and Tilley are as good as their word and will sell you a new one at half price if you do lose yours.
I like mine because the brim helps keep the sun out of my eyes and helps to keep the more common rain off my glasses.

I wear my dark green hemp Tiley with a leather jacket (when in a marina) and was once complimented for looking like Indiana Jones... I said what do you mean - and she said - I like the hat. Good enough for me! I enclose a picture of me in a Tilley looking like a Larger Lout.

Dashing! Did you get the matching safari west with the whip holster?

I vaguely remember my father wearing a hat which at one time before and after the war where popular a sort of wide bribed trilby?Theses days it odd tosee a hat being worn in the street and the impression is the wearers are conscious of their fashion statement in this vein I was complemented by a young woman as I preambulated down est street in Chichester wearing my Panama at a rakish angle, trousers and check shirt and braces set off by my man bag.

No, but if I was going to accessories I would buy the whip and holster!
Agree, it does round off the ensemble quite

Ah, if anyone can carry that preambulation off, it is you Wansworth, with that sassy swish to your hips.
For me, I'll just have to stick to perambulating with my faded ol' Breton cap.

My first Tilley lasted 15 years and then mysteriously disappeared after a few years of comments about it looking like it had actually passed through an elephant. I have defiantly bought a second one which has done about 3 years.

Possibly better than the ageing overweight cargo pants look. One has to have somewhere for the phone and wallet on a warm day.

I have a 'thinned down' wallet for warm summer days, contains a C/C, debit card, some paper currency of various denominations and driving licence, so fits in a pocket easily, very rarely carry my phone, it's either in the car or on the boat, so No Problemo.
As for overweight cargo pants, at 6' and 12 stone don't think I fit into that category.

A man bag after you get over the initrate feeling that it is a female “thing” is great. As needed I can carry my iPad,book to read, note book and pens wallet ,passport any small purchases etc. There is certainly no need to emulate your wife’s habit of everything except the kitchen sink!

Nothing sexist about my dislike of man bags, I just hate carrying something, I like both hands to be free, I do have a single strap back-pack which Iuse if I want to carry stuff around and this still allows me to keep my hands free.

Yes it is important when using a tender to have both hands free. My man bag also has a single strap (adjustable). When shopping i use one of these in 55l size purchased on Amazon UK Summit Dry Bag Backpack (35L/55L) After a few years trying to keep shopping and laundry dry these are the best I have found.
