Can anyone help? I'm a newcomer to wooden boats and I've just acquired a Tideway, which needs much doing. So firstly, should she be stored on her trailer? Further, can anyone recommend a boatyard for restoration? I don't mind travelling-live in the South West. Also a good book on maintenance/care of clinker boats?
Many thanks,
Robert

Storage - ideally under cover, failing that under a good canvas cover, failing that upside down (ON BLOCKS - not with gunwale contacting the ground!

Should not come to much harm on trailer; the weight should be taken on the keel not the bilge chocks.

Look for books by Michael Verney in public library.

Robert,

Try Trouts of Topsham. they carried out an excellent restoration on my T31.

They do traditional and modern boats. Family business, which quite small but they pay attention to their customers.

Regards.

Peter.
