Where is the fastest Tidal stream in the world? I remember seeing something about it on here a few months ago. Just interested.

Its the Skookumchuck Narrows in Canadada, where mooses get washed away very quicky! (up to 17 knots!)

Saw another of your namesakes last week at Mandraki Harbour, Rhodes.
Nice 40ft + yacht - British make, British flag. You've not changed already have you ? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I think it's in Canada on the West Coast - there's an island in the middle called Tremble Island cos that's what it does when the 26kts gets flowing!

They think it's more, but the last time they tried to measure it the tidal stream guage got swept away - that was the last recorded reading!

If you can't get to Canada try The Bitches off St. David's - up to 20kts with a 2m metre wave - not in your yacht though. Some nice chaps have a 10m RIB with a big Caterpillar engine and a water jet - or if you like getting wet canoe over there.
