There is an excellent site that has several tidal gauges, including Deal in Kent. I cant find that one right now, but this site has some good info:

And when you are afloat listen to 69 and London VTS broadcasts the height of (generally) Walton, Shivering Sands, Margate and Southend at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour
