Has anyone seen the article about how to make throw bags?
As a Kayak coach and white water safety provider I found this very interesting, I have been making throw bags for years.
I couple of ideas to imporve the design in the mag:
Make it with a round 'foot' on the bag, it throws better
Add a small bit of ethafoam in the base about 25mm think, this helps it float higher and improves throwing.
MOST IMPORTANT - TAKE THE LOOP OFF THE END YOU HOLD, this is realy dangerous and could lead to the rope snagging, for years we have been teaching the "CLEAN ROPE PRINCIPAL"
A last note, if you are on a coded boat, is the throw bag "safety gear"? in which case you should have a CE marked bag.
