Luckily it's tomorrow but I wonder if he would have listened . I would have used my best Harry Enfield voice. "I do NOT believe ....." ?

I imagine if there's a war on they might take the chance; the SOP otherwise is to avoid repeating the embarrassment of HMS Vanguard attempting to make last orders in a pub on the esplanade before being dragged off for scrap, or HMS Nelson just driving onto the putty because some erk can't keep it between the buoys.

Im sure she did, first time round this heli flew in with wind behind the chopper, i have never tried flying anything but even i thought he would try to fly into the wind to land on the deck which was his second attempt.

I did feel inadequate as i was only strolling past with an iphone the other chaps there had big dslrs with some very serious bits of glass.

I was on the Gosport side, she was due to leave at 16.00 but finally left at 21.30 due to the wind.
So with it being dark the best and closest shots of the action would be from the round tower and hot walls area

Not sure where you got the 16:00 from QHM Portsmouth movements email received the day before showed departure time as 21:30 ... timed to broadly coincide with high water.
