Message came up on Facebook that HMS Queen Elizabeth was leaving at 9.30pm

Just seen Force 10 blow along The Solent

Luckily it's tomorrow but I wonder if he would have listened . I would have used my best Harry Enfield voice. "I do NOT believe ....." ?

Nice to see fighters and heli's on the decks?

I believe that the carriers are not permitted to pass through the harbour entrance in winds gusting higher than 25 knots.

Lets hope war doesn't break out on a windy day then.

I imagine if there's a war on they might take the chance; the SOP otherwise is to avoid repeating the embarrassment of HMS Vanguard attempting to make last orders in a pub on the esplanade before being dragged off for scrap, or HMS Nelson just driving onto the putty because some erk can't keep it between the buoys.

The Queen did it first time. ?

Im sure she did, first time round this heli flew in with wind behind the chopper, i have never tried flying anything but even i thought he would try to fly into the wind to land on the deck which was his second attempt.

I did feel inadequate as i was only strolling past with an iphone the other chaps there had big dslrs with some very serious bits of glass.
