Those of you folks who visited my cruising grounds might remember...

A brief update, after some days of fair weather allowed SMIT and other experts to assess the situation.
It seems that the worst risk, i.e. a major spill of fuel, while not yet ruled out completely, is reasonably under control.
Tanks are being emptied, and they are evaluating the best next steps to get rid of the wreck.
Though the first rumors point towards demolition on the spot.
One thing inspiring some confidence is the video below, where sea water looks pretty much business as usual - i.e. crystal clear, fingers crossed!

Just a brief, relatively positive, update:
It seems that the main risk, i.e. pollution, is by now well under control, after the removal of almost all the oil from the ship tanks.
It's still to be decided how to go ahead with the vessel removal, which won't be a piece of cake anyway.

Unfortunately, today I couldn't join the new owner of my old boat in the transfer to the maintenance yard, but he passed along the coast where the ship is stuck, and sent me a pic and a short clip.
If they are anything to go by, it seems that business as usual is restored, with calm seas and a summer-reminding landscape...
Not a bad way to spend half a day right in the middle of the winter!
