Thornycroft t95 temp warning

Serviced the engine yesterday and ever since the temp warning light is on but the gauge is reading normal...any ideas?

Sounds to me like the wire or the sensor is earthed out somewhere, try disconnecting the wire to it and see what happens, if its no different trace the wire backards and see if its bare anywhere or touching the engine, If its OK the sensor is knackered.
They usually work on resitance to earth

Sounds like i might have knocked it or or damaged wire while replacing batteries.
