Here's the grand reveal. I wanted to link the upper and lower rails for extra rigidity but just going straight up didn't look right as the angle was different to the stanchions. I therefore made this up to match the correct angle. Although it protrudes it is still less than the anchor and I'm happy with the look.

(Rails are only roughly tacked at the moment).
