The cannon body is made from the piece of 2" SS shafting we used as a dolly for riveting in all the new ribs 60 of them and the carriage is made from a piece of the old oak stern post from Mercia III.
It will only fire blanks and does not emit from the muzzle.
So it is quite legal.

She looks nice ! To be honest i wasnt after a Kestrel , i just wanted a project but when i found out Flare was No1 of her class i decided it was something that needed to be done .

Seems i've jumped the gun there , i've just spoken to Andy and he is giving me untill the end of the month on the house .
Also Classic boat have shown some interest .

Thanks Dave . My boat builder type captain friend came round earlier today and he is looking forward to helping out aswell .
