Re: Nasa Navtex with Antenna

What part of "If you're linking to Ebay you MUST state this in the title." is unclear?

You know it is possible to point out other people's mistakes in a way that doesn't come across as aggressive, know-it-all, pious and hectoring. But it may not be possible for everyone.

At the top of the page;

Forum: For Sale
Free classified adverts up to a value of £400 per item. If you're linking to Ebay you MUST state this in the title.
I see that now - in the "index of forums". The "For Sale Rules" seem to be different, although they do say that if you don't comply with the request the thread will be removed.
Anyway - this is a very useful discussion, which is keeping the OP's post near the top of the listings.
Nigel should be congratulated.:encouragement:

Please read and follow or your post may be deleted.

1. The forum limit is £400. We hope this forum will act as somewhere where we can exchange boating odds and sods, rather than a major trading post.

2. You MAY post links to auction websites for items that would be expected to sell for less that the £400 limit of this forum. This allows users who want to sell products (within the forum limit) to do so in a secure environment (for the buyer and the seller). However, we will still not allow links to BOATS FOR SALE (except tenders), whether that be on auction sites or otherwise.

3. IF YOU ARE POSTING A LINK TO EBAY IN YOUR THREAD, PLEASE STATE SO IN THE THREAD TITLE OR YOUR THREAD WILL BE REMOVED.

4. This is not a place to advertise company websites or wholesale, goods or services, it's for private individuals selling items they no longer want, not for commercial ventures.

5. Please state the price of the item on your post (no 'open to offers'). Items over the limit of £400 will be removed and please do not make offers such as 'Half of this engine for £400' as these will be removed too.

Why do people sell these things, are they any good? or has the world moved on with technology?

Sorry that reply was a bit silly; it gives frequent weather and navigation warnings and updates for UK and europe; silent, dependable; minimal current and no data charges to pay. It picks them up 24/7 and stores them for you. The Internet is more better but requires data and connection and is a hassle because sometimes a simple instrument that just does one thing really well is easier than a multifunction sub-menu context driven box.

You state this doesn't come with its power plug, what would be required? is it a simple 12v jack plug or something special from Navtex.

Cheers
