This is what we need in Somalia

Pirate problem solver

But did you notice that the missile missed the seagull? Having tried many solutions against seagulls it is good to know a missile ship isn't worth the investment.

The Hamina class missile ships aren't that fast. Officially 30 knots.

What difference does it make how fast a boat you have, if you arent allowed to shoot the **** out of them?

I disagree, as I posted in Scuttlebutt yesterday in the Q Yachts thread.

"....................there have been some vociferous voices claiming that naval and naval auxiliary ships cannot just blast away at pirates. But in 2008 the United Nations Security Council unanimously passed Resolution 1838 that allowed countries to use "military force" to repress acts of piracy along the Somalian coastline.

Simplified version:

According to Resolution 1838 the pirates in the sights of Wave Knight guns and marines were fair game as the ship and crew had a UN Mandate to "apply military force". "

U.S.Navy releases a Somali pirate chief -
The US Navy today announced that it has released a senior planner for the Somali pirate ring after questioning him extensively for 27 days while being held prisoner aboard a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea .

In a humanitarian gesture, the terrorist was given $50 US and a white 1962 Ford Falcon automobile upon being released from custody. The Navy even went to the trouble to ensure his seat belt was correctly fastened.

The attached photo shows the terrorist on his way home just after being released by the Navy.
