This is the Direction we need to go me thinks

looked over this at Boat life and thought it was much better than the Axopar 28, More usable space,
The sides at the stern fold down to give swim platform, All on 1 level would work very well for what I am looking for.
Idea for use in the UK.
Its good that we all like different things otherwise boating would consist of all the same style boat, and how boring would that be?

I think Boats have been somewhat the same for ages. This modern type of boat with innovative design is I think the way to go.

went on one at the Birmingham boat show.

If I wanted a practical sporty dayboat with overnighting capability this would be top of my list.

Brilliant and safe foredeck.
Beach club.
Proper heads.
Fabulous vis.
Really nice practical detailing (wipers hide when parked, concealed rain gutters for roof, etc etc.)

Lovely boat.

That's good too.
It would be really dull if every boat looked like a saxodor/axopar.
It seems like every boat in my marina and local vicinity does look like an axopar/saxdor/fjord, because they are one of those.

Axopars seems to be like range rover sports round my way, every ****s got one.

I suppose it is ok for the money if you want something like that new. For me a secondhand Botnia Targa type is a much better thing. Apart from anything else you can get fuel most places and will have a range to get somewhere.

Good job that's what you bought then Gord.

BP you are absolutely right. We’ve designed 40-100ft motorboats for nearly 50 years and I have just put a deposit down on one of these GTC’s. I am a GA (general arrangement) designer (not for Saxdor!) with over 30yrs experience and this GA is faultless/ spot on, perfect for the UK as can be used year round as can be heated, has 150 mile range and for a 30ft boat at around £200k with all the trimmings and twin 225’s I believe represent good value. Also has very good access from the quayside for those with family who aren’t steady on their feet.

I think off the bat the Saxdor is a better buy than the Axopar competitors and No-one mention the Brabus Shadow 900 which to me has to be one of the most ridiculously marked up boats in history..

Anyway I quite like these and I like the floppy down side thing. But (and I don't think this is the reserve of this style of boat) the interiors look like they were made from materials supplied by MFI, IKEA and a splash of B&Q. But that may be more systemic of current boat building techniques and availability of quality joinery.

They have just released a 400 version - a lot of boat for the money !
