This has probably been done to death, but what do you use to up the stick?

Why doesn’t it allow it? I’d certainly expect to put my hands around the mast when using the Kinleven ladder, and I don’t see why it shouldn’t work. My shoulders are wider than those rungs.

I stand corrected. I've used a similar model and found it less secure to climb, that it forces my knees out, that in general I was forced to lean back more, and more difficult really hug the mast close, handy when it sways. This is probably all a matter of personal taste. Double rungs would be nicer and perhaps easier on the legs. A trade off.

Stainless steel folding steps is what I have. I'm surprised that more boats don't have them. I use a Bosuns chair or a harness, depending on what I'm going to be doing up there.
 
Same as most people around here, we rent a cherry picker for €30 per hour. Simples.

Even better. I've only seen this in Kroslin.
