any recommentions for a UK or ozzie insurer for an old 30 footer for the above ( besides pantaenius n QBE ) . boat is in asia. ta

You could try Basic Boat Insurance. They third-party insure my old 30 footer. I am in the UK though. I don't know if they will go offshore.

I don't think B.B.I. will cover boat S of Brest, owner must reside in UK.

Before I was insured with then I had 3rdP. with Pantaneaus who only required a photo of the boat, as their policies are tailored to the particular boat they may be able to offer different geographical areas?

My 3rd party insurance with Bishop Skinner (I think - I just send the cheque off once a year & the details are at home) covers Jissel for all European waters as standard. I'm sure they'll soon tell you if they'd cover elsewhere.

Uk insurer for boat in Asia ? You'll be lucky. My boat is in Latvia and I couldn't get any cover other than Pants - which was daft and didn't cover what I asked them for !

I had to go to German outfit in the end who gave me 3rd Party cover for 48 Euros - the cover was far in excess of any other 3rd party policies I'd seen before. Outfit is "Nautima".
They kept to all I requested - geographical limits, what covered, wreck removal etc. No silly requirements ... straight form to fill in.
