Hi all,

I'm thinking of taking our boat out of the water, multiple things going on over the next few months including a new baby arriving. We have a barn I can put it in and tinkering over the winter whilst it being so close is very appealing...as of course baby crying is too..

However, a couple of questions for thoughts and advice please. I don't have a trailer so would either have to hire one or get a firm to move the boat from Hamble Point (24ft long) to near Banbury. Anyone have a view on where I might hire a trailer or a firm to move it for me...costs?

Secondly, my boat is on the dry stack there. Will I get a pro-rata rebate given it goes until May next year or will the sting me? I'm not sure on the law here but given it's a service over a year I think I can get a rebate, will check terms, but if anyone has a view...

Thanks!

its probably cheaper to leave it there. You get a discount for an annual contract. If you change that, you move onto a monthly contract (back dated). Sometimes, you ca end up owing them !!
Then maybe you have to pay them to load it (and unload it next Spring) onto a trailer, hire a trailer and so on.
Why not leave it there, anyway?

Just spoken to them...you are right...lol...put me to a monthly and calculate from there...I'm still owed 400 quid at the moment, but it aint worth it I think, I just wanted to have it close to cuddle.

I don't think you'll find three wise men on here? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There is a down side to this Tony as i'll find out next week when i bring mine home from Poole.
If its away on dry stack, you can forget about it lol.
If its at home, you'll wish it was on drystack so you can use your baby when you need a fix lol.

I'm afraid you cant win /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Trouble with storage for us lesser mortals is cost, with uncertain times ahead, storage is a cost i could do without.
