Hi all,
Am thinking of going to the Cowes fireworks on Friday night but don't have any night passage experience.
Would be really happy to take an experienced skipper and associated other along in return for a "safe pair of hands".

We will be going there (weather permitting - as it currently doesn't look that great) on our 8m rib. Can go in company if that's what you prefer? DO you have radar ?

If unsure about plotting a safe route home I would take a good clear route out in daylight, save the track and reverse it home. At least you know you will miss all fixed hazards.

Take your time and plot the buoyage getting all crew to look out for lights etc.

Don't forget there is a blanket speed limit, I think 15 knots, for that night.

After the fireworks, wait half an hour for it all to die down before heading back.

Special 15knt speed limit in the solent between 2130 and 2300.

I'm supposed to be taking a Squadron 42 out of the Hamble otherwise I'd happily come with you.
