Thinking a head

Baltic for us; probably 2-3 seasons over there and then back via Shetland and West Coast Scotland. Of course, living in Bristol, we have to sail the Bristol Channel and the whole of the South Coast first:giggle:

For the first year, we actually have some form of a plan, which is to take the boat down to southern Brittany for a couple of years. Just a few loose ends to tie-up, and hopefully we'll have dates in the diary for the summer cruise down there.

Fingers crossed.

We will get Resolution serviced in Turgutreis, Turkey in early May, then slope off down via Datca to Marmaris / Gocek.
July / August the mast is due to come out for replacement of the standing rigging - aaaghhhh ££££££££££ (n)(n)(n)
Then in Sept / Oct we head back up into the Aegean aiming for Leros for the winter.

Hope we all have sunshine and fair winds.
Peter

We're starting our season with some exotic (to us) sailing: a few days in the Solent with my brother, then a week in an 1897 gaffer on the Broads. Then back home to Helsinki to launch our own two boats.

The plan for the cruising yacht includes 6 weeks sailing the southern Finnish coast, the Turku archipelago, the Åland islands and the Stockholm archipelago, and hopefully as far south as Öland before returning via Gotland. All of this easy day sailing only. We've only 5 weeks' holiday each, so my wife & I will stagger our holidays so I leave a week earlier and she returns a week later, sailing singlehanded or with friends, that way we'll get further.

The smaller yacht is for weekday evenings, and the focus will again be on taking out random strangers from our local Facebook crewing forum, to let newcomers get a feel of sailing - very rewarding!
