Boat approaching launch day!

Down to the last bits.

Thought of putting LANOCOTE on the propellor, especially as I have some.

Should it be lagged on, good and thick? Or smeared thinly?

Or even should I antifoul the prop and then LANOCOTE it?

Never seem to have found a solution to barnacles on the prop in the past.

The best success with lanocote I've seen has been when the prop has been removed, burnished and then heated, with the lanocote being applied before it cools down. Not much point in lanocote over antifoul IMO. Any more than a thin coating will come off the first time the prop is used.

Lanocote was the biggest waste of time and effort. Put it on Amber's last year, did the heat thing ans all (you need to melt the lanocote to make it set hard) but the little sods had a real feast. Compared with previosu year when I used nothing it was MUCH worse...

I have used lanolin with great succes for the last two years. It is important to completely clean the prop and then wet and dry abrade and polish the surface. Them use a hot air gun and warm the prop, smear on the lanolin and keep the gun going until all the lanolin is melted. Repeat with a couple more coats. The key to it is to get the first coat well sunk into the grain of the prop.

Good Luck
