I'd agree. We looked into trucking our 36' sailboat from the Great Lakes to Pacific NW and whilst I can't remember precise dimensions, I do recall that we could do it without police notifications/escort vehicles, but only just: Not only mast down, but stern goal-posts and pushpit/bow-roller off too; it was something like 38' long, 10' wide and 12' high.

I thought the same initially, but at the point of the "noise", the trailer would have begun a turn to port, the noise could have been the torturous sound of the rear axle and springs as they get slewed sideways in the turning motion. Besides if you had just scrapped the boat you probably wouldn't be in the mood to continue filming and creating a video.
