I saw a couple of these in Chichester harbour today, fairly whizzing a long they were, look a lot of fun, anyone tried them.

some info here, here

Why doesn’t the speed limit apply to them? and why when they are only a few inches deep do they constantly need to race across the channel /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think they don’t really want mobo’s to avoid them, I believe they are happier if we keep to our heading and they whiz around us, but what if just one of them doesn’t operate like that?

"why when they are only a few inches deep "

The foils actually give them quite a depth, once they lose speed, so they do need a bit of water and they have to choose a course which will enable them to maintain a good speed, to stay up on the foils.

I am sure you could fit something like them to your mobo - then you could have some fun too !

Good idea! they do seem to have a lot of fun, and no speed limit! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

international moth "foiling".. wings on rudder and daggerboard. All very adjustable and hence difficult to learn to sail and foil... Even the original moths which stayed in the water were tricky to sail well.
