Steve Curtis has won the world Class 1 Championship for the 6th time; a unique achievement in the annals of powerboat racing. See here

How lengthy a mention do you think this will warrant on "Sports Personality of the Year", on Sunday night? My money's on three seconds. Any other bids? A virtual fiver to the person who gets closest.

Not mentioned at all would be my vote - yachting seen as an elitist sport so the media plonkers turn their nose up at it. Steve Curtiss has as much media attention as Foggy the world superbike chapion, i.e. well covered in the specialist programmes, and known by the people who folow the sports - unknown outside of these specific areas - absolutely barking mad especially when compared with the attention given to the Im a celebrity get me out of here type people!

Less time than they spend discussing the bloke that won the elephant polo championship in timbuktoo.

Well the opinion appears to err strongly on Zilch. No surprizes there then. Will the BBC surprise us tonight? I wont be holding my breath. I hope nobody else does either.
