Planning to call in the Swale on our way south. Hoping to pick up a bouy or anchor off Harty. Have a bloody dog, and luckily a good dinghy. What's it like getting ashore there? Should be able to sync the bladder time with highish water. TIA

Landing is easy either side near high water. There are often buoys free on the Faversham side, but anchoring is good. I'm not sure about the Faversham side, but it can get a bit muddy on the Sheppey side around low water. Keep to the seaward side of the old concrete causeway if landing on the Sheppey side. It's gravel with muddy patches. The advantage on he Sheppey side is the Ferry House Inn, but it does close early if there are no customers.
On the Faversham side, it's great for the dog, but a bit of a trek to the nearest civilisation.

Yes, stay on the causeway on the Faversham side, you'll be fine. Off the causeway, you'll be in mud where our CG team practised mud rescue. Nuff said. Nice walk along the lane from there about a mile to Oare, two good pubs, one gastro and one ornery.
Or go into Conyer, Swale Marina, certainly visitor berths available. Nice place. Dries though, so may not suit your plans.
