For simple stuff Trago Mills is fine, but everytime I want anything complex at a sensible price I am directed toward Plymouth
Then its the time and fuel. I found too many times I would drive round half the county and fail to find what could be got online. Running a boat before used to be a logistics exercise, to get to all the outlets in the right order and before they closed. Even then when I needed a Lister spare at 4pm on a friday, Sleeman and Hawken got it to me by 10am next day. Drove there once, 100m each way, just to get back to sea next day. Same with a new engine, quicker to pick it up from Mermaid, as it was a friday and the dreaded weekend was looming.

Went to Maylor Marina for Chandlery at weekend. Chandlers closed till next day. Went for walk and tried next day and the required winch handle and spare cleat cost what seemed similar to my mainsail. Bought winch handle on line as non urgent, managed without cleat just for furling line till I passed F4 on my travels
