Wot you need is a nicely painted fourty five gallon oil drum like what I have down Mucky Farters cellar. Then if not quite make the 300 or whatever break point. Can slurp some into there. Then pump it back into tank. Saves a fortune.

Good idea but as there's nowhere to store a 45 gal oil drum on our small boat I'll have to stow it in our dinghy and tow it back up to Kingsbridge. I think it would look a bit unsightly lying on the berths in the cuddy! Not to mention the smell.
I wonder if I could persuade the residents association to allow us to install a storage tank in the garage area ? Thanks Haydn you've caused my little brain to start to think laterally for a change.

laterally would be to just fill the dingy..............

glad you have found at least 1 flaw in your new joy; it's ridiculous that manufactures don't allow for the carriage of a 45gall oil drum on all craft/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Yes, ok, I suppose we should have thought about this before we decided on this boat. We obviously had our priorities all wrong. Suppose we should have bought Spanish/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Mind you, even at 40p. what financial bliss in comparison with previous "unleaded".

Now you're being silly!
Anyway I'd be afraid to do it in case the soltron spilt when I was pouring it into the "mattress" and we died of asphyxiation.
I'm not surprised that the Bugs can't stand it.

Not so silly, wasn't there a 50 footer (marex?) crossed the atlantic with all the matresses replaced with diesel beds? Oh, alright, it is silly. But not unrealistic. Alright, it's daft. But true, I think.

not planning to be away beyond the Tuesday night so I don't think I will fit in I am afraid.

Re: West Country Trip...

When is this all due to happen then? Nobody asked my permission !!

So far the furthest East I've been is R.Exe and the furthest West is Fowey - powerboat wise. Been around a lot more on one of those boringly slow things with a tall stick with sheets hanging off it. Never called at Weymouth however.
Was hoping to do a weekend to the Fal or Helford sometime this year in the new toy. I suppose Weymouth is probably no further than that but it's in the wrong direction as it's taking me too near the Solent with all those strange people.

May go down to Devon next week but the forecast is looking awful for going far by boat. Am then going to Edinburgh the following week to visit The Festival of the Sea on the 23rd-25th.
