Hi, all
need your opinions on a little problem with the project.I ve just aboat decided what to do with the transom, but thought i,d ask the panel thier views.
Originaly the out drive was supported on the transom and the wieght spread by two spares/props.However when the drive was removed they removed part of the boat with it..i think it was a board. As the transom has to be 50mm thick..what would you put there and how would you fix it ??.The existing panel is 10mm thick glass.Weight of drive is 47kg +half of engine (engine has two front mounts).
If this is as clear as mud there,s a picture which shows problem, and top of support.
Any suggestions advise welcomed.

Normally you'd have a Marine Ply panel across the transom which is considerably bigger than the outdrive 'ole. To this running vertical fore and aft would be ply gusset knees to key transom panel to bottom of boat. Being paranoid I'd probably run a piece of inch square down each join to give greater gluing area.
