We have lived in Torquay for 17 years and never been to Richies.
What is it like?

For curry, we used to go to Thariks (on the Torquay side of Paignton) modern setting but it is too far to walk from the marina.

Another suggestion if you like Thai food is Junjalo - about the same walking distance as Richies but on the road towards Babbacombe.
Certainly walking distance from the marina.

Yep, sorry, big flappy things. We have a motor in our boat but 29hp doesn't move 10 tonnes very fast so we need nature to help us along. We get very excited when we get +2 knots for free.

No we need to get back to Hamble for a week or so. It was too expensive to leave the boat on a mooring so we're sailing back to return in a fortnight. Going to give the Portland Bill inner passage eastbound a try tomorrow.

What is curry?
No curry houses around here at all, nearest is either in Hasselt or across the border in Eindhoven.

When I first met my wife I took her to Eindhoven, we were going to have a Japanese meal but the restaurant was closed, across the road was a curry house so we went there, my wife was 48 back then and it was her first curry, the guys that ran the curry house were from Birmingham. Meal was excellent, sadly that curry house is no longer there, the are was re-developed a few years ago.
