the nicest harbour entrance in the World - probably

you are, of course correct

and I shall really enjoy the granduer of the Scottish coastline

which is wonderfully crinkly amd I am sure will entertain me for a few summers

I have spent two summers off the west coast of scotland in the eboat and it was brilliant

however, I take my pleasures where I can get them

and to be sitting on the boat on the mud while the wind howls over the reeds, or to feel the boat quietly lift from her perfectly formed berth in the small hours of the morning and hear an owl working across the local fields, or to enjoy the power of those tides, to see a flock of 300 avocects, to watch the local harbour porpoises hiding behind a mud bank while waiting for a sea trout or salmon to come up with the tide is not entirely devoid of pleasure

A purely magical post that chokes me up with emotion Dylan. There is a poet in you.
Thanks for sharing something wonderful.

Well spotted Mudkipper. There are a couple of boats with a greater draught than UFOREA. I have enough water to get in and out of the creek every two weeks around the time of springs and this suits my lifestyle well. I dont need to sail to enjoy the boat, just being onboard helps to chill out.
The club is a great place to be and has all the facilities that you would get in a Marina for a fraction of the cost, except of course water.
Thanks for the plug and if you ever want to experience the Humber give me a call.

Ted.

Well done Dylan. Have you been to Goole yet? I knew some fishing family folks from Hull that think it's a strange place. I'm not sure if that was at the same time my father-in-law was Harbour Master there - but that was 45 years ago. He did go on to be Harbour Master in some lovely West Coast places in Scotland as well. Looking forward to seeing your reports from there as well.

I have been past it but not in yet

I have a 30 day license for the waterways - so I will use that when Jill can come sailing with me

Hi Ted
''I dont need to sail to enjoy the boat, just being onboard helps to chill out''

Me too, I completely understand your sentiment, sadly many don't.

Thanks for the invite, I'll tuck it away for later I'm many miles away.

Classy boat you have there. I seem to remember Hartley producing a quality standard of fit out. Too racy for me in my advancing years sadly.

Good luck with your sale.

She is

Hard to tell in the speeded-up version I watched but it It looks like Katie-L is tucked up next to an identical boat??

another Minstrel right beside her

as for when you meet another boat coming the other way

etiquette demands that the one with the shallowest draft gets out of the way

and as katie L draws 15 inches I give way to everyone - of course you can see a mast coming long before a hull appears around a corner

Lovely videos Dylan. How do you deal with music copyright issues, you have some nice tracks in the background?

youtube has a programme that recognises the music

they then own the copyright and the revenue from the ads on the video page

they give a percentage to the music people and nowt to KTL

the band is these people

http://www.theolddanceschool.com/

lovely people, lovely music

they give me permission to use their stuff on the dvds provided I give them the odd plug - such as the one above

Call me selfish, call me antisocial, but I like an anchorage deserted. My spirits fall when coming into an anchorage and I can see a sea of masts. A bunch of boats spoil the view and scare away the wildlife. But then I suppose I'm doing the same!

Nice little creek Dylan. These little hidden gems scream to be explored......

it is a great place to base the boat though

lovely

birds, baby rabbits, nice blokes, showers, lekkie, good 3G, utterly peqceful and most of the boats are empty most of the time
