Having read this post I realise that I too must be a royalist.
Whenever an American president visits, he invariably meets our Queen.
I love the media pictures of the most powerful man in the world
bowing to our Queen
Makes it all worthwhile IMHO

Incidently the Queen still has the power to disolve parliament
