Further down on I posted on some minor problems with my Windy 8800 (2 x Volvo 205's that is). They are LPG converted. When running on petrol, I couldn't get the revs above 3300 ish. I have now found out from her previous owner that the two push-pull buttons (one on either side) to the side of the helm are in fact air solenoid actuators that enable more air to get in to the carbs when running on petrol. An old engineering expression springs to mind - RTFM!

But I can't RTFM if no owners manual was supplied. The conversion was done by LPG Marine, who have since gone out of business.

Has anyone any further LPG experiences to share?? If not, then this was FYI only :)

Glad to hear that your problems may be sorted and hopefully no expense involved.

Re: salutory tale

it would be an excellent idea to invite the previous owner on board more, with bribe of drinks or paying his expenses if a special trip required. It can't be that there's only one "ah, now this bit here see..." element of the boat. It is strange that so many boats are simply hauled off to other marinas with no thought to contact or use the previous owner - or even (sometime better) the previous maintence guy(s).

Dave,

If you do take up tcm's suggestion and invite the previous owner on-board, don't forget to ask him to bring along some of the photos/video he shot from it.

Then post it on the forum.

(It'll make Pauline's holiday photos look like a school trip to disneyland /forums/images/icons/wink.gif )

(Not Never Never Land /forums/images/icons/smile.gif ).

Glad you found the right knobs to pull at last !!!
