The list is getting shorter......

Well, the canvas bits were delivered on time and of good quality, excellent prices. Modifed stack pack for fully battened main, full length binnacle and wheel cover, emergency forestay tackle cover and 4 winch covers, repairs and reinforcement to dodgers 340 quid. Bargain.
Have now commissioned washboard bag and repair to liferaft webbing for another 55 quid. Very bargain.
PA horn fitted to mast and wiring inside the boat done
New Deck flood/Steaming light for final fix tomorrrow
All halyards and lines washed and smelling nice done
Mast polished
LPG Gas lines changed, cooker refurbed.

More tomorrow...

On Friday, everything got shifted into the 'can do later' list and we went sailing.

Shake down sail wonderful until we tried to gybe and realised that none of the sheets had stopper knots and we lost all three!!! Motored into the wind and got everything sorted. Then the wind went up to a 6 and shifted to S.E. which made an unpleasant choppy head into the wind return trip (remembered Jim's advice about Gentlemen not beating to windward...)

Upshot is that a new 'must do' list has been created, top of which might be new batteries if they don't get a decent charge over the next day or so.

That reminds me, one job on the list is to move the gas onto the aft deck and fit a through deck fitting to feed the cooker. Anyone know where I can get the pipe and a suitable deck fitting ?. I'll make up a stainless cage for the bottle at work when I get half an hour

I have 1 metre of rubber LPG hose. I will throw in in for delivery via Morgana.

for the fittings, go to BES.co.uk Cheep cheep, like the budgie.

I had a visitor yesterday, but I had popped out for some retail chandlery therapy.......

Here is the PM sent to me....

"As I was on Purdeys on Saturday middayish I stopped by to say hello but you weren't there. I stuck my head in case you were in the bowels - has a bomb gone off in your saloon?"

:p

Here's my latest acquisition

DSCF1016.jpg

Hope it fits in the cockpit locker

What's it for?

Tis an 'olding tank. Slopey bit below the cockpit floor - red bits cover the fittings for hose tails (in, out, deck pump out and vent), black bit I hope never to have to remove to sort out a problem  and a contents gauge sender. N metres of hose, 42 jubilee clips, diverter, macerator and bits of wire, circuit breaker and push switch, vent filter, new loo and I shall have a completely new system:)

Not by next weekend though.

If you need sanitation hose then go to Leigh Baxter Associates off Stock Road (also on ebay) - 38mm hose only £2.97 a metre - half the price of Dauntless

Short day yesterday, we went off to collect our 'new' trailer tent for the family holiday, and then I worked on the mast for 4 hours.
I managed to lose the steaming light wiring halfway up the mast, so that was a bit of a faff, but now we have installed the replacement steaming/deckflood unit and put the new Fog horn/PA speaker above it.
So the wiring is all finished and checked for continuity, just got to put the halyards and other lines in today.
With a bit of luck, I will be able to close off the electrical distribution box today, and fit the 3 new stainless hand holds (in a difficult to get at location in the transom).

The weather could do with being a little less gloomy.

As always Jim, thanks very much. I shall pass on the info to the 'purchasing manager' and tell her what's required. The gas hose will help big time too, thanks again. Never did get the time to make a cradle for the gas bottle though, all hell broke loose over the last couple of nights. Another project put on hold until time allows. Along with the outboard bracket for the tender, the switch panel, the instrument panel, the ..........
These lists, do they ever get shorter ? :o

Certainly is, still got to fix all the leaks on the big bird attack rib but for now we'll be using baby duck. If you've got any idea which way to bend the steelwork I'm all ears. Got some stainless tube set aside for the job, just got to pump her up and check the dimensions to make sure it's the right size
