In July we had a lift out for a quick spruce up of the copper coat and a few adenoids (as someone recently called them) should have only been a few days. Mmmm
It soon became evident the cutlass bearings needed attention, after all the engines have done a massive 106 hours so what should we expect. Mmmm
To get the old bearings out of the P bracket (Standard cutlass brgs on this boat are nylon or plastic or something like that) meant taking the prop shafts out or the P brackets off. Either way the props have to come off.
Thats when we found that each prop had different pitch and in any case where not the standard for the boat. Mmmm
So a week or so later the brgs are fitted and spare props fitted which happen to be a pair but are still not the recommended ones for the boat, engines re-aligned and we are re-launched.
Then we find we have the diesel bug. Mmmm
Black diesel in one tank.
Super outfit came in and centriguge the tanks, clean out all the pipes and fit new filters and we are ready to go for an August of adventure.
Or so we thought!!
More in part two.
