Loch Moran in Scotland is a true fjord but not connected to the sea !

Lochs in Ireland are "Loughs"

The only fjord in Ireland is Killary Harbour.

Fjord can also be spelt "fiord" although "fjord" is "more" correct.

(Little spippets for fun.)

No, but keep meaning to pop over to Loch Dinton and give it a go - even went as far as picking up a price list once

Re: Didn\'t feel a thing

Well, Brendan we may not have a house when we get home. We've cut short our Great Lakes cruise and are now half way into the 1600 mile drive home. Hurricane Charley is on course to go through our house tomorrow, Friday, with a possible 17ft storm surge + 2.5ft high tide and the house is only 12ft above sea level. We are a little worried, to put it mildly.

Yes, you do, 'cos that's its name! Or you can say "the lake OF Geneva".
And may I kindly remind lake-lovers everywhere that it's the Lago di Garda and Lago di Como!
