Do you mean ships or boats ? There is a difference you know !! H.M.S. Victory was a ship (square rigged on three masts) as opposed to a brig, barque etc. So was the Cutty Sark. Boats are much smaller than ships ! and the general difference in modern times is 'Ships carry boats'. However many ships today just carry liferafts !! Also worried about a publisher who obviously knows nowt about his subject!! Trev
