has been sold to Fambridge Yacht Haven! The new landlord takes over next weekend and he has already started making changes. The conservatory will be a restaurant, he's taking most of the tables out of the bar, he's putting a brand new kitchen in and he's putting log burners in, for that cosy touch!

It'll be interesting to see how it all turns out, what the menu will be like and what the prices will be!

That was one of my favourite pubs.. had some bloody good times in there,
in the days when Roy and silvia.. were Minehosts

I did hear that Roy passed away a few years ago, any news about Sylvia

it would be great if they are prepared to take lunch orders after 13.59! we turned up at 2pm once and could only buy a bag of nuts. poor show, seeing as we'd sailed there and I had guests who were starving!

What do you expect, this is England after all! None of your continental flexible hours, eat when the customer wants to stuff here please. Lunch 1200-1400, dinner 1800-2000 and not a minute outside lol.

Same happened to me at the Ship at Levington a few years ago - just before it got burned to the ground.

No it wasn't me with the matches :D

Remains to be seen how the place is affected

Bit worried about the removal of tables from the bar comment - no sign of that weekend before last, I'll see how it looks this weekend coming

If the pub ceases to be scruffy yachtsman friendly then, coupled with the increase in permanently moored boats on the pontoon, it may be time to consider a change of mooring

The new landlord takes over next weekend. I know what you mean about being yottie friendly. I'm wondering what the "restaurant" will be like, because I personally like pub grub served in the bar.

we also like the pub grub.

we will be glad to see those iron chairs gone and more comfy ones

we are in there most friday nights and some saturday nights.

We're gonna have to arrange a means of recognition! Almost always in there first night aboard, usually a Friday or Saturday, and often both on working weekends

The conservatory would benefit from improvement I agree, its neither comfortable nor atmospheric. The bar though I like just as it is

that sounds like someone is due to arrange an ECF Crouch roundup meeting at the Ferryboat on Saturday night sometime soon.....

who's organising it? :D

Don't look at me, I couldn't organise a piss up in a pub ... oh, hang on a sec!

All things being equal I'll probably be in there on Saturday night as it happens
