Sorry,
its a Beneteau 351: my first sailboat. as for Anchor i really don't know as i am in the learning phase, for at leat 5years. i will use all of theKnowledgeable people on this site to find out what is best

Welcome to the forum and don't take too much notice about the anchor question. It's a long standing joke on here as the subject of what anchor to use and which one is best is often a cause of great debate and a little friction.

Enjoy your Ben'. Have you ever sailed anything before?

What sails do you have? I assume you have a roller reefing genoa? Is the main an in-mast system or the standard slab reefing? Or perhaps you have a stack pack system?

Hi John,
I could never answer the anchor question anyway, limited knowledge.

No i have never sailed, i have been on sail boats and had a little play. but that is it. the sail on board an in-mast and a rolling Genoa.

Mark,

Welcome. I've come along the same path, now eight years in to sailing. John (as above) taught us the basics of sailing over an intensive four days and has the patience of a Saint. My top tip for an ex-motorboater cum sailor (such as me) would be don't carry too much sail. If in doubt stick a few rolls in the foresail/mainsail. The boat will sail better and faster if she's more upright and there will be less stress around for all involved.

Rob
