Don't think I can PM you either, till you build up a number of posts. Worth looking here:

UK IF-Boat Association

I notice there is now a UK presence based at the St Mawes club where they have raced International Folkboats for many years. The 26 is based on the IF boat but much more suitable for cruising. Just post your questions and I will see if I can help.

Thanks Doug, I was going to ask what you thought of the engine tank capacity, it looks quite low at only 15 litres. Also the engine looks quite old, do you think that realistically it would need to replaced fairly soon? Thanks

The Beta engine is well respected and at coming up to 20 years of age is really nothing as long as it has been looked after. In fact it is probably fine, even if neglected somewhat as long as it has not been abused. Check there is no corrosion at the back of the heat exchanger and ask if the anode has been regularly replaced.
Spares are easy and the factory has a fine reputation for looking after customers. They are good engines for small spaces as most common jobs are easy to do from the front.
I notice it is said to have been laid up for six years which is worth asking about.
The tank is tiny but then again you would probably get between 15 and 24 hours motoring from it and topping up the tank from cans is easy provided you give it a bit of thought in advance.

A one time Forumite did an outstanding refurbishment of his Marieholm 26. You can work through his blogs, photos and videos here:

Introducing Mr.Wilson

There is a mass of stuff to look at, covering every aspect of the boat.
